Frequently Asked Questions About the Ovation Circle

Q: What is The Ovation Circle ?
A: The Ovation Circle honors those who have given generously to The Granada Restoration Project. Eligible donors who become members of The Ovation Circle will enjoy some of the best seats in the house for many Granada events and share in special offers and social events, while providing annual support to help ensure the outstanding quality of our offerings. Q: What level of giving qualifies me for the Ovation Circle ?
A: Any gift of $50,000 or above to the Granada Restoration Project entitles the donor to purchase an annual membership in The Ovation Circle for ticketed events produced or presented by The Granada. The tax-deductible annual membership of $1,000 per couple (or $600 for a single seat) guarantees your "personal" seats for many Granada events, though you must also purchase any subscriptions and/or single tickets separately. Q: How many performances will be eligible for Ovation Circle reservations?
A: During the Preview Season (March through May 2008), The Granada will present or co-present 7-10 events featuring a wide array of outstanding touring performances. Priority seating is available for these events to our Ovation Circle members. During the first full season (2008-2009), Ovation Circle members will receive priority seating for Broadway and Family Series shows by subscription, as well as a number of shows offered by outside presenters. After the first year, we will develop a presenting fund reserve which, in a few years, will enable us to present up to twenty world-class companies a year, and Ovation Circle members will have right of first refusal for all of those events! Q: Where exactly is the Ovation Circle ?
A: In the orchestra, Ovation Circle members will occupy the center sections and aisle seats of rows 7 through 11. Members can also choose the fourth row center in the balcony, right behind the cross aisle with plenty of legroom. All locations will feature some of the best sightlines and acoustics in the hall. Q: Who gets seating priority?
A: Priority is based on chronological order of commitment to the Campaign. Once reserved, the seats are yours to renew or release. [Back to Top]

Q: How do I join?
A: Just let us know on your pledge form. For major donors interested in Ovation Circle membership, we have just begun to assign seats (August 2007). When we get to your name, you will announce your intention to become an Ovation Circle member for the annual $1,000 premium. You will then be able to choose your seats from the available locations. Q: After I select my seats, how do I order subscriptions?
A: Once your Ovation Circle reservation is confirmed and paid for, let our box office know which performing arts subscription(s) you wish to purchase (remember, in the first year of the program, the Broadway Series and The Family Series are available). The Granada staff will then gladly process your request. Remember, all subscriptions and single tickets must be purchased separately at the going rate charged by each concert or show. [Back to Top]

Q: Is there some kind of deadline on subscription ticket orders?
A: Your seats will be reserved for you until the beginning of each subscription renewal campaign. After that, those seats will be released to those organizations for their own campaigns. The Granada will notify all Ovation Circle members well in advance of those deadlines. [Back to Top]

Q : Can I sit in my own seats for non-subscription events as well?
A: We will make every effort to work with companies, promoters and outside presenters to offer our Ovation Circle members priority seating before single tickets go on sale to the general public. However, since many of these outside agents simply rent the theatre, they will ultimately determine single ticket policy. [Back to Top]

Q : Will anything indicate that the seats are mine?
A: Ovation Circle members will have their names printed on handsome seat plaques designed for the purpose. Your name plaque will remain on the seat until you decide to relinquish it. [Back to Top]

Q: Can I be "bumped" in a year if a bigger donor comes along?
A: As long as you wish to maintain your seats and are willing to pay your annual premium, you cannot and will not be bumped. This is our commitment to those who gave in our "hour of need." In fact, all Ovation Circle seat reservations are transferable and can be assigned to family members or friends upon written notice from the donor or through bequest. [Back to Top]

Q: Will you "sell out" the Ovation Circle ?
A: We anticipate that there will be high demand for the 111 Ovation Circle seats, which are offered to eligible donors on a "first come, first served" basis. However, there should be many excellent seats available right up to the opening celebration week in March 2008. [Back to Top]

Q: Is there any way of joining after the opening season?
A: While major donors will probably secure all Ovation Circle seats by opening night, a waiting list will be created. Then, if a member does not wish to renew his or her annual reservation, the first person on the waiting list will be offered that seat location. [Back to Top]

Q: Can I join The Patrons Circle waiting list?
A: Yes. When you join the Ovation Circle, you are automatically placed on The Patrons Circle waiting list. While we suspect that you will be delighted with The Ovation Circle seat locations, we understand that you may wish to participate in the full spectrum of events that only The Patrons Circle can offer. [Back to Top]

Q: Can I give my seats to someone else for a particular event?
A: Of course. The ticket is yours to give away. [Back to Top]

Q: Can I sell my seats to someone else?
A: No. The resale of seats is unauthorized and "scalping" is prohibited. If you cannot attend an event, we encourage you to donate your tickets back to the box office as early as possible. If resold, your donation may become a tax-deductible contribution. [Back to Top]
