The Granada Vision
The Granada will be a year-round, multi-purpose venue for music, theatre, dance, opera, musicals, films, lectures and conferences. An explosion of activity will be generated by the tremendous
variety of events and performances.
Resident companies will include the Santa Barbara Symphony, Opera Santa Barbara, UCSB Arts & Lectures, State Street Ballet, CAMA, and Santa Barbara Choral Society. The theatre will also be available to other local arts organizations, such as Music Academy of the West and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. These regional non-profits will benefit from reduced rental fees due to
a special endowment.

International Arts Events and More
The Granada will also feature national and international performing arts events
on tour, including the Broadway Series, the Family Series, classic films and more. The theatre will employ sophisticated technology to support satellite broadcasts
and serve as a home for events "live from The Granada."
As a community facility, the main theatre and other public rooms will be
made available on dark nights for civic events, including large meetings and conventions, graduations, seminars, non-profit gatherings and rehearsals.
Our new catering kitchen will serve thousands of patrons during pre- and
post-show events, luncheons, and intermissions. |
The Granada will provide Santa Barbara with an exciting, beautiful space, a cultural and entertainment landmark, and a theatre of surprises that will light up State Street for the next hundred years. |
