Doublewide Kings 190

 DoubleWide Kings

August 24, 2023 | 6-8 pm

The Santa Barbara-based Doublewide Kings play a uniquely tweaked blend of original music and cover tunes that brings new passion to the familiar pleasures of roots-rock, Americana, country-blues, and the glory days of ‘70s FM radio.

With sommelier-like precision, these every-day Joes have cobbled together a repertoire that combines the deepest and most rewarding of old vine cuts with their own tasty, freshly-pressed songs, and the heady result is that, in the hands of the Kings, rock’n’roll once again feels urgent, exhilarating, and above all, fun.

Something this way magic

August 31, 2023 | 6-8 pm

A production out of DeTar Music Studios run by brothers Jake and Gus DeTar, Something This Way Magic takes the listener on a journey through artistic freedom and musical ambition to a place of entertainment that challenges the status quo. Emerging from the shadows of Queen, Muse, Steely Dan, Journey and the like, the band draws an audience up through a screen of smoke and mirrors to appreciate what these icons had to say, and then say something of their own. From anthemic melodies to cascading harmonies, virtuosic solos, and earth shaking rhythms, Something This Way Magic invites the listener into an experience of love, light, and catharsis that only music can provide—and if you see them, there may be some visual surprises as well!
