In 2024, the Granada celebrated 100 years of presenting world-class performances and beloved cinema classics along with 100 years of creating great memories – special times with family, friends, and loved ones. In recent years, people have posted memories of times at the Granada:
“Wow. Went there almost every weekend. 25 cent admission and candy 5 cents.”
“The Old balcony in the Granada Theatre, when there were loveseats for two.”
“I remember walking down State Street late one night, and there were some guys coming out of a big limo, in front of this theater, looking like gangsters. They were actors who were there for a very drastic opening night enactment.”
“To mark the Granada Centennial, we especially wanted to capture more of those special, personal memories. We invited folks to come to The Granada to tell their stories and share their memories on video. We heard wonderful stories: A special concert, a Broadway show, a first date, a blockbuster film …. even an air raid!”
